Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering Belgaum

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2010 with the intake of 60 students in UG program and recently a PG program in “Power Systems” has also been introduced in the year 2014 with the intake of 24.

Since its inception, the Department has been playing a vital role in producing technocrats of high caliber to cater to needs of academics and the challenges in the thrust areas of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

The Department has well equipped conventional laboratories of Electrical Machines, Measurements, Control Systems, Micro Controllers, Power Electronics, Analog Electronics Logic Design, & High Voltage. Necessary and adequate computing facilities & resources in the form of licensed application packages are also available.

The Department has distinguished, highly qualified, and experienced faculty members and competent supporting staff. The faculty of the Department has been constantly carrying out research on many cutting edge technologies, regularly publishing papers in reputed national and international journals. The Department also undertakes consultancy works, both from government and industry.

The Department flag-ships, TESLA and IE(I) Student Chapter ( Electrical), provide ample opportunities on curricular and co-curricular fronts to the students to participate and exhibit their talents to transform them into competent professionals with rich blend of managerial skills. Few events with noble and humane initiatives like Blood Donation Camps, Energy Conservation Awareness Programs are also held in the Department.


Courses Offered


Undergraduate Programme

Electrical & Electronics Engineering :- 4 Years Full Time

The course shall be called the degree course in Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, abbreviated as B.E. in E & E . The course shall be of four academic years duration divided into eight semesters, each semester having duration of 16 weeks. The calendar of events in respect of the course shall be fixed by the University from time to time. The examination in all the subjects shall be conducted at the end of each semester for all the eight semesters.

Power System Engineering :- 2 Years Full Time
