Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Jain College of Engineering Belagavi, organized Industrial tour on 25/10/2016 to the wind power generation plant. In association with The Institution of Engineers India students’ chapter (Electrical).
The industrial visit helped students gain hands-on experience of how industry operations are executed; it bridged the gap between theoretical training and practical learning in a real-life environment. It also provided opportunity for interactive learning experiences in-class as well outside the classroom environment; further it broaden the outlook of students with exposure to different workforces.
The energy generation plant is located at Hulevanur village of Belgaum district. Prof. Vinod S. Patil and Prof. Shubha B Asst. Professors accompanied students to the green Energy generation plant and switching substation.
Mr. Rajshekar Reddy educated students regarding power evacuation from the site to main grid, different devices used in substation and there functionality, Mr. Vinoda Mathew educated students regarding the working of the wind generator, the cut in and cut out wind speed of the separated excited synchronous machine, how variable voltage and variable frequency power is made matching power with Grid etc. Mr. Shrikant S and Mr. Shivanand assisted their colleagues in explaining students.
Prof. Basavaraj V. Madiggond Head Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering congratulated the organizers and told such visits will bridge the gap between the Industry and academics.
