Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Jain College of Engineering, Belagavi organized a technical talk on “Recent Trends in Transmission of EHV & UHV” under the aegis of The Institute of Engineers (India) on 11h Feb 2017. Dr. Subba Reddy B, Principal Research Scientist Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, was the Speaker.
Speaker of the function, Dr. Subba Reddy B, appreciated the efforts of the department in conducting such technical talks; he highlighted the recent trends in High Voltage transmission of electrical Power and thrust areas for young students and researchers. He highlighted that recently in India 1200 KV transmission line is under experimentation. He explained development & applications of high temperature low sag conductors in transmission of electrical Power and he also briefed on the evolution of Indian power sector to one grid nation.
Prof. Basavaraj V Madiggond HOD (EEE) motivated students to take maximum knowledge from the technical talk, which can add a line to their skills. He also explained the need of extra high voltage transmission lines, new type of insulators and pole structures. He thanked ever one who made the talk a success.
Prof. Vinod S. Patil staff coordinator of The Institute of Engineers (India) students’ Chapter (Electrical) welcomed all staff & students for the technical talk.
